The Nativity Story by Foundation Stage
Long, long ago on a dark night Joseph untied his donkey.
"Who will help me pack the donkey?" said Joseph
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat. “Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so he did
“Who will help me lead the donkey?” said Joseph
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat , “not I” said the rat.
“Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so he did.
“Who will help me find a room ?” said Joseph
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat.
“I will.” said the innkeeper and so he did.
While shepherds watched their flocks by night, all seated on the ground.
The angels of the Lord came down and glory shone around.
“Who will help us find the baby?” said the shepherds.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat
“We will,” said the angels and so they did.
“Who will help me carry the lamb?” said the shepherd.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat
“Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so they did.
We three kings of Orient are, bearing gifts we travel afar.
“Who will help us find the baby?” said the three kings.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat.
“I will,” said the star, and so he did.
Twinkle , twinkle little star.
“Who will help me carry the gold ?” said the king.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat.
“Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so he did.
“Who will help me carry the frankincense?” said the king.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat.
“Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so he did.
“Who will help me carry the myrrh?” said the king. “Oh very well then I’ll do it myself,” and so he did.
“Not I,” said the bull, “not I,” said the cat, “not I,” said the rat.
“Who will help us sing to baby Jesus?” said the shepherds and the kings.
“I will,” said the bull, “I will,” said the cat, “I will,” said the rat.
“We will,” said everyone and so they did.

On Monday 15th December senior citizens from Stannington were invited to a tea party - each class performed a selection of Christmas songs or poems.
On Tuesday 16th December the children made Christingles for a service held at Christ Church on Wednesday 17th December.


Father Christmas visited the school and gave each class their classroom present.

On Thursday 18th December the children had a Christmas party in the Hall.
