The Y1 classes had a very successful visit to Weston Park Museum with a Toys and Games workshop on the 20th January. In the museum the children had opportunities to learn about Sheffield in the past and natural history. The workshop supported our Toys and Games topic, focusing particularly on History, Science and Technology. Children were given an opportunity to look at and compare old and new toys. They were also able to make their own version of a Noughts & Crosses game out of clay.
To build on this visit in the classroom, we will be investigating a variety of old and new toys, moving toys and making our own moving pictures. We will also be visiting the local park as part of our Science follow-up.
