The Castle of Muiden in Winter
by

In Foundation Stage the children were interested in the idea of a stormy sky and we made stormy music together.
We made up two stories based on the painting and acted them out.
Outside in the playground at lunchtime castles were drawn onto a stormy background by Foundation Stage.
A group of Year 1 children worked together to make an information booklet about Kings and Queens.
Year 2 made clay models of castles and also made amazing structures from plastic milk cartons and bottles to go against the castle backdrop. They had been inspried by the artist Gayle Chong Kwan who made constructions to go with The Land Of Peach Blossom.
Year 2 discovered that the Castle in Muiden exists and a poet lived in the castle.
Throughout school castles were available for small World play.
