This half term the Y2 classes visited the new Madina Masjid just off London Road. The visit supports the work we have been doing in class on Islam and Christianity and allows the opportunity to compare different places of worship. During the visit to the Mosque the children found out more about Muslim beliefs and the way in which the lives of Muslims are influenced by these beliefs. We have made a visit to a Mosque many times and this has proved to be a wonderful learning experience for children and adults alike.
After our visit to the Mosque we visited Christchurch in Stannington and were shown around the Church by Rev Philip West.
We also visited Underbank Unitarian Chapel in Stannington.
