Class RB set off for the wood knowing that something special was going to be there. Emily thought that the fairies might still be there, whilst Aaron thought there would be a lot more things growing because it is summer.

We played the string game to learn how everything living in the wood is connected.

The children worked together to build new dens for the fairies.

We became colour hunters looking closely at the colours in the wood for our collections.

The game predator and prey helped us learn more about how the creatures in the wood are connected.

The bluebells we found are a sign of the age of the wood, which is about 400 years.  We also all walked past a fossil of a tree.

Back at school the children had a philosophy session discussing "if a tree fell down in Beacon Wood and there was nobody there to hear it, would it still make a noise?".

Ben wondered if that would be the end of Beacon Wood.   Georgia and Freya developed their interest in maps by adding photographs to their drawings of the route.
